Blige is hitting New Zealand next month, playing Auckland's Vector Arena on June 16 and Wellington's Town Hall on June 17.Dubbed the Queen of Soul, the Grammy Award-winning and platinum-selling artist has never ventured to our shores before.Once known for her ghetto-fabulous lifestyle, the former drug addict has turned her life around in recent years, a story told over the course of her past two albums The Breakthrough and Growing Pains.Earlier this year, Blige claimed two Grammy Awards for Best R&B Performance by a duo or group and Best Gospel Performance, adding to her total collection of eight Grammies. Blige has sold more than 40 million records worldwide since first debuting on the music scene in 1991.
Tickets to the shows go on sale on Monday June 16 through all Ticketmaster (Auckland) and Ticketek (Wellington) outlets.
